BYU-Pathway

How much does BYU-Pathway cost?

There's no single price. BYU-Pathway charges tuition per credit, and the rate depends on the country you live in. Here's how the pricing works and how to estimate what you'll pay.

Last reviewed September 26, 2026. Prices change, so always confirm on BYU-Pathway's official tuition page.

How tuition is priced

The guaranteed tuition discount

Every BYU-Pathway student is eligible for a tuition discount of 10%, 25%, or 50% off their tuition balance, based on need. It's often referred to as the Heber J. Grant scholarship. Check BYU-Pathway's tuition discounts page for how to request it.

Books and course materials

Avoid the late fee. A one-time 5% late fee is added to any balance not paid by the last Monday of the semester.

How to estimate your own cost

  1. Look up the per-credit rate for your country on BYU-Pathway's tuition page. Add 25% if you are not a Church member.
  2. Multiply by the number of credits you plan to take this semester.
  3. Subtract your tuition discount (10%, 25%, or 50%).
  4. If you're past your first year, add about 10% of your tuition for course materials.

Repeat for each semester you plan to study. A bachelor's degree is 90 to 96 credits in total, so you can also estimate a full-degree budget by multiplying your per-credit rate by your total credits.

Planning to continue your studies?

If you're a US citizen or eligible noncitizen transferring to Western Governors University (WGU), the BYU Pathway to WGU Scholarship is worth up to $4,000, paid at $1,000 per six-month term for up to four terms. You'll need a PathwayConnect certificate of completion. International students aren't eligible, so if that's you, look at the fully funded awards in our scholarship finder instead.
